For many years, our boys and girls ages 3-14 shared the same central campus in the heart of Shiloh, until the fruitfully multiplying young population in our Binyamin/Samarian region, (consistent with proven educational strategies) necessitated separating the boys and girls to two adjacent, but uniquely designed campuses.
The boys’ campus has expanded to encompass the entire old campus, which we are gradually renovating and upgrading (as we raise the necessary funds) to meet their specific needs. Our acclaimed Petting Zoo at the center of this campus, blending therapeutic, educational, and social needs, in the finest SICF tradition.
The children care for the animals under expert supervision, helping each other and growing – educationally, socially, and emotionally – in this wonderful form of informal therapy. The two school buildings for boys are on this campus, as is the music studio and playground, the art center, and the more conventional educational programs.
This campus also contains the adjacent Mifgash (The Meeting Place) Gush Shiloh Therapy Center, where most of the formal therapy programs are located. These include the wide variety of individual and group programs that expertly treat PTSD through art, music, movement, drama, animals, and our multi-sensory safe room.
The new girls’ campus, established in 2023, is rapidly taking on a character of its own. The Horticulture/Agricultural Garden is an important outdoor project in which the girls are actively engaged on many levels.
This program uses the natural setting of working in a garden atmosphere, under professional guidance, thereby blending therapeutic, educational, and social needs, in the finest SICF tradition. The girls recently planted memorial trees for the many young soldiers, many from their own families, who lost their young lives while fighting for Israel’s survival. In addition to more conventional educational programs, the beautiful new building opens doors for new ventures to meet the challenges, including a special hands-on Emotional Therapy Activity program, which involves a wide variety of cooperative small group projects.
There are several other schools, such as several high schools that receive our support, as well. A few are local and others are in satellite communities. Of course, our Therapeutic Horse Farm is at a separate location on Givat Harel, and there is a small branch of Mifgash in the community of Eli, both just a short ride from our main campuses.
Visit ancient Shiloh, where Joshua set up the Tabernacle, where Hannah prayed, and where Samuel the Prophet grew up into prophecy as a result of his mother’s prayers.
Then visit modern Shiloh, miraculously reestablished through the determination of the pioneers who have returned to their Land.
Most of all, your heart will be moved when you meet the children in our therapy programs and in the schools as they build for the future, despite the threat of terrorism and other obstacles in their path.
Have a Bar or Bat Mitzvah coming up? We can help you organize a meaningful program for your child in the hills of Shiloh, the first capital of ancient Israel.
